Survived January!

Last Sunday we had a birthday gathering for T, who turned 30-something. Almost everyone was able to get together (some illness starting to make the rounds) as we enjoyed a good visit with the folks, who have just returned from another visit to Maine.

On Wednesday, the weekly Forest Hills Journal was delivered with our big ad about the hit-skip accident showing very well in the front page section. Very discouraging not to have any feedback at all, however. Someone is going to get away with this and it just isn't fair!!

We've enjoyed some spectacular sunrises this week as we continue to have mild weather. Just today, though, it's started raining a bit and over the coming weekend it will be much cooler and I hear there's a possibillity of some $@#& flurries. Dandy.

Matt's been working hard with the crew at the "flippin'" house, learning crazy things like how to caulk and how to paint a porch ... seems to be enjoying it even though it's all Greek to him. He'll be picking up on some good practical life skills at this job! He comes home every day and unwinds by playing Nintendo (Playstation? I don't know what it is any more!). His old pal Beanie loves to jump into his lap and snuggle - a great big 20 lb. mass of purring fur. He's always loved to sleep with Matt, ever since he was a wee kitten. He's just so heavy ..... ugh.

Big fat Bean is hanging out with us now, keeping an eye on us as we sort through documents getting ready for our Saturday meeting with our favorite tax lady, Diana. She always finds a way for us to get a nice return - all legal of course, she's just very good at what she does. Beanie knows there's a mouse in here somewhere, he's heard me talking about one ... where could it be? Ah, he's almost got it, under the pile of tax forms ...
